Why choose Better Together Mental Health?

We are committed to providing high quality mental health services that meet each person where they are in their lives.  We know you are not living in a bubble. We want to help you to live your best life.  We believe in building on strengths.  We believe in ethical care that upholds the highest standards around confidentiality.

We are continuously learning and growing through continuing education courses, clinical consultation and supervision, reading, and seeking new information.  As learners we support other social workers in their professional development.  Having team members who are finishing their final practicum of their masters program and provisionally licensed social workers helps us to ensure that quality providers are being trained and keeps our supervisors aligned with the newest research in social work.

We use evidence based approaches, but we do not believe one approach fits all.  We choose the best modality and techniques that match each client’s needs.  We realize that therapy is relational and one of our top priorities is helping you feel comfortable in therapy.  Whether you are sitting with your feet up in the office or curled in your favorite chair at home we want you to feel like you can relax and share whatever you want.

We know that boundaries help us to know what is and isn’t OK and are crucial to maintaining our overall well-being.  We do not believe burn out is inevitable.  We believe that we need to establish practices in our life and career that keep us well so we can continue to provide you with the best care possible.

As a practice committed to quality and overall healthy relationships we are private pay.  This allows us to be able to ensure that we are always working for YOU and not working to make your insurance company happy or treating paperwork more than people.  We know your time and money are valuable commodities and we will do everything we can to respect that.  We will happily provide you with a Superbill monthly to submit to your insurance for reimbursement (if you desire).  We also can bill your HSA card for your care.   We are primarily a paper free practice.  We use an online Electronic Health Record (Simple Practice) and will provide resources electronically.

We support our community whenever possible by selecting local businesses for the items we need for our practice.  We also want to lift up other women and populations that are under represented in business in our selection of business partners.  We are part of our community's organizations and you are likely to see us at the Farmer's Market, Art in the Park, or First Fridays downtown.  We engage in community service as a team and we advocate for social issues. Each quarter our team selects social issue to focus our advocacy and service toward.
